So yea...the 3rd bike didn't last either. The chain snapped again.
I've officially been pwned by Walmart. I truly believe you get what you pay for ($69 bike). I need a side job, but they'll probably deport me back to Canada if I applied for something else.
So time to look for a car for the term...a Boxster?

3rd bike in 5 days
My plan is to ride to work for the term in sunny California. The trip is just over 4.5km and about 30 minutes fill with a landscape you never seen around Toronto (ie. a 27 degree slope from the driveway). The following day I arrived in San Diego, I went to buy a bike at Walmart, $69. 2 minutes out of Walmart, the chain breaks = exchange.
Today after work, the front tire went flat. So I looked up the nearest gas station for an air pump - ~1.5km away. The tire didn't fill up. At this point, I'm over 8km from home to avoid a steep hill. Left work at 5 and got home at 7:30. Turns out the tubing had an almost foot long rip in it. Somehow, I suspect someone did it...but who knows. I'll park it somewhere else at work.
Jim, my landlord, kindly drove me to Walmart for a second exchange. Hopefully this one lasts longer.
I brought my camera along today, so I took advantage anyways to lighten up a depressing situation. I miss my car.

Denver International
6 hours of my life I'll never get back
My trip started 4am in the morning leaving Toronto at 7:30am. Everything was smooth and on time, or should've been. I got to Denver International at 10:15am (Mountain time) and had until 11:40am to board my connecting flight. I sat at the gate waiting about 30 minutes till boarding....and I missed it. They called the first class people and the 1K, premium people to board first. I didn't know economy boards right after. Next flight was at 2:40pm. This flight delayed for 3 hours and finally was able to take off at 5:30pm to San Diego. It sucked.
What sucked even more was when I was waiting to board in Toronto, the flight was overbooked and they were offering $400 incentive to volunteers to take a later flight. If I took that, I would've been on the second flight to San Diego. So there I was still taking the second flight, but without $400 bucks. That sucked too.
